Do you guys think is menopause?

Hi, My boyfriends mom is acting really strange lately, shes always mad at him and i kinda understand Because right now hes not studying or working which drives her crazy ( me too) But yesterday was different because she bought chocolate cake for him and she offered him some and he said he didnt like chocolate and she got really mad and put the knife on her neck and threatened to kill herself or something like that! (i wasnt present but he told me) I told him it was probably menopause and that she is short on monet. So what so you guys think? Thanks :D
